For the seventh consecutive year, Brevard Zoo has been nominated as one of the top zoos in the United States by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards.

Brevard Zoo, which opened in 1994, was built by the local community to provide a space for people to connect with wildlife. Over three decades, it has expanded its efforts in animal wellbeing, conservation, and education. Last year, the zoo ranked sixth in these awards.

The zoo’s membership program has also received recognition. It was named the fourth-best zoo membership program in the country last year and is again nominated this year. Membership benefits include unlimited visits and early admission.

A panel of experts collaborated with 10Best’s editorial team to select nominees for each category. The final top ten will be chosen through public voting. Supporters can vote for Brevard Zoo in both categories until Monday, March 9 at noon at https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/brevard-zoo-melbourne-florida/. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 19 on the 10Best website.

“Brevard Zoo is home to more than 700 animals representing 170 species from all over the world. As a not-for-profit organization, it is a leader in the fields of animal wellness, education and conservation,” according to information provided by Brevard Zoo.
