Don Peebles, chairman and CEO of Miami Beach-based Peebles Corporation, announced on Apr. 6 the appointment of his son, Donahue Peebles III, as chief operating officer and his daughter, Chloe Peebles, as chief of staff.
The move marks the beginning of succession planning for the real estate development firm. Bringing family members into key leadership positions is expected to help guide future operations and ensure continuity in management.
According to a news release, Donahue Peebles III has served as an executive vice president at the company since graduating from Columbia University in 2016. In his new role as COO, he will oversee construction, asset management, and financing for the firm’s development pipeline. Chloe Peebles joins the company after working as a brand development consultant with Texas-based Thryve Wealth Management. As chief of staff, she will focus on optimizing workflows and high-level project management.
Other recent leadership appointments in South Florida include Ian Slavin joining Atlanta-based Portman as vice president of residential development. Slavin will manage all aspects of Portman’s multifamily projects across Florida and previously worked at Mivo Development Group. Additionally, Catalfumo Companies hired Monique Nussbaum as general manager for the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Palm Beach Gardens ahead of its completion later this year. Nussbaum brings experience from managing operations at Privé at Island Estates and more than a decade with Ritz-Carlton properties.
In brokerage news, Re/Max Advance Realty has launched a Pre-Construction Luxury Division focused on South Florida’s luxury condo market. The division is led by Melanie De Armas with team members Antonio Aguirre, Lana Caron, Fernando De Carolis, Julieta Rivero and Fabiola Rojas.
