Florida Department of Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas has announced the allocation of $40 million through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP) to expand workforce education programs across Florida. The funding aims to strengthen 49 programs statewide, increasing their capacity by 59 percent.
With this latest round, the total investment in workforce education initiatives under Workforce CAP has reached $240 million since its launch in 2023. The program is designed to help students gain skills for high-demand industries and support Florida’s economic growth.
“Florida’s workforce is stronger than ever because we are investing directly in students and the programs that prepare them for success,” said Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas. “This $40 million investment expands opportunities across the state, giving students access to cutting-edge training and ensuring Florida remains the best place to build a career.”
The Workforce CAP funding supports both high school and postsecondary education programs, providing hands-on training that leads to industry-recognized certifications. The grant is intended to ensure that students have access to resources needed for success in emerging sectors.
More information about the grant program and application details can be found on the CAP Grant page of the Florida Department of Education website.
