The Florida Chamber of Commerce has announced the top four finalists in its “Coolest Thing Made in Florida” competition, an event aimed at highlighting the significance and variety within the state’s manufacturing sector.

The finalists include Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions from Alachua County, which produces large underground mining loaders equipped with both diesel and electric power systems. These machines are exported internationally to countries such as Mongolia and Indonesia. Chromalloy, based in Palm Beach County, designs and manufactures FAA-approved jet engine replacement parts for aerospace engines. The components are designed in Palm Beach Gardens, cast in Tampa, and machined in Oldsmar.

Blue Wind Technology from Brevard County assembles wind turbine nacelles using advanced composites. Their products contribute to cooling over 3 million homes and are recognized for advancements in sustainable energy technology. Arthrex of Collier County specializes in orthopedic surgical devices, including its DualCompression Hindfoot Nail implant that supports bone healing with a nitinol core.

“These finalists demonstrate the extraordinary talent, innovation, and global competitiveness of Florida manufacturers,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “From aerospace and energy to healthcare and heavy machinery, these companies are helping grow Florida into a top 10 global economy.”

Voting for the final round is open from September 10 to 23 at CoolestThingMadeinFlorida.com. Participants can vote once per day for their preferred product.

The winner will be revealed on October 28 during the Florida Chamber’s Future of Florida Forum (F3) and Annual Meeting held in Orlando. Event registration details are available at FLChamber.com/Future-of-Florida-Forum.

The Florida Chamber of Commerce describes itself as the state’s largest federation representing employers, chambers of commerce, and associations for more than a century. The organization focuses on uniting businesses to create economic opportunities across Florida.
