A former vice president of Royal Caribbean purchased a waterfront home for $17.3 million on the Venetian Islands, according to property records released on Mar. 27. Brad Miller and his wife, Jill, acquired the six-bedroom, 6,500-square-foot house at 1041 North Venetian Drive.
The sale is part of a recent trend of high-value transactions on the island chain. Developer Humberto Ramirez completed the property late last year on a 9,000-square-foot lot and said it sold within three months of listing. Ramirez said that buyers in this price range are seeking custom homes with luxury finishes rather than speculative builds: “Buyers in this price range know exactly what they want.”
Other notable deals include Miami-based chiropractor Amir Kermani’s purchase of a vacant waterfront lot at 1230 South Venetian Way for $10.3 million after selling his previous home for $25 million earlier this month. The lot can accommodate a mansion exceeding 9,000 square feet.
Fred Mann also sold his five-bedroom house at 1001 North Venetian Drive to a Delaware limited liability company for $10.5 million—about nineteen percent below asking price—but still above its last sale price of $6.2 million in 2021.
In another March transaction, a double-lot waterfront property at 228 and 302 West Dilido Drive changed hands for $24.5 million; it is approved for construction of an expansive residence featuring amenities such as a gym, spa, library and media room.
These sales suggest ongoing demand for luxury real estate in the area despite buyers negotiating lower prices than those initially listed.
