IAM District 19 President and Directing General Chairman Reece Murtagh, along with TCU/IAM Vice-President Nick Peluso, visited Capitol Hill to advocate for the No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act (H.R. 5475). The bill, introduced by Representatives Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) and Emilia Sykes (D-Ohio), seeks to expand the current overtime tax exemption to include airline, rail, and other FLSA-exempt workers.

Murtagh and Peluso joined IAM and TCU legislative staff in expressing appreciation to the bill’s sponsors and discussing strategies to secure its passage before the next tax season. According to supporters, the legislation would provide overtime tax relief for airline and railroad workers, aligning their benefits with those already available to millions of other American workers.

“Tell Congress: Railroad and Airline Workers Deserve an Overtime Tax Deduction Too!” IAM and TCU stated.
