The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Retirees & Membership Services Department held a week-long class at the William Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Maryland. The purpose of the event was to help members establish retiree clubs at both district and local levels.

The initiative aims to increase activism among retirees, provide them with additional resources, and encourage mentorship between retired and younger union members. According to IAM, those interested in starting a retiree club can find more information on their website at https://www.goiam.org/departments/general-secretary-treasurer/membership-services/.

The training reflects ongoing efforts by IAM to strengthen its network of retired members and ensure their continued involvement within the organization.
