Jack Henkel has been promoted to chief operating officer at the Florida High Tech Corridor, according to a March 18 announcement from the organization.

Henkel’s new role will involve working with leadership to support daily operations and guide the long-term strategic growth of the Cenfluence initiative. The appointment is seen as an effort to strengthen programs that help high-tech companies in the region.

Henkel has been part of the Corridor team since 2021. Before joining, he worked at the International Business Innovation Association and the University of Central Florida Venture Accelerator. In addition to his new responsibilities, he will continue serving as senior cluster manager for the Gaming, Entertainment and Immersive Technology cluster, where he provides guidance to cluster members. He also remains program manager for the Florida Federal & State Technology Partnership Program (FL FAST), which delivers programming related to research and development funding through the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs across Florida.

The organization said this combination of operational leadership and direct support for companies is intended to expand both Cenfluence and FL FAST initiatives. These efforts are aimed at helping high-tech businesses launch, scale, and grow throughout the region.

Henkel is originally from Jacksonville and holds three degrees from the University of Central Florida: dual bachelor’s degrees in marketing and finance, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
