Jeff Franklin, creator of the television show “Full House,” sold his two remaining waterfront lots in Miami Beach’s Venetian Islands for $22.5 million, according to an April 3 announcement.
The sale marks the end of Franklin’s plans to build a large estate on a 1.2-acre waterfront assemblage he put together in two deals in 2021. He had purchased the longtime home of Manuel and Aida Capó, founders of El Dorado Furniture, for $35.5 million in June 2021 and bought the adjacent property from developer Dan Kodsi for $13 million the following month, bringing his total investment to $48.5 million.
Records show that Franklin sold one lot at 1230 South Venetian Way to a Wyoming limited liability company named after the address for $11 million. The adjacent lot at 1236 South Venetian Way was sold for $11.5 million in a deal not yet recorded publicly, according to listing agent Julian Johnston of Corcoran Group, who also represented the buyers.
Johnston said that pandemic-related delays disrupted Franklin’s original plan to build a mansion with amenities such as a tennis court: “He was going to build a big mansion with a tennis court,” Johnston said. But, “life changed.” After attempts to sell the property as one large parcel failed, Johnston advised splitting it into smaller lots more typical for the area.
Following this strategy, previous sales included one lot at 1224 South Venetian Way sold for $8 million and another at 1228 South Venetian Way sold for $10.3 million earlier in January 2025. In total, all four sites brought in about $40.8 million—resulting in an overall loss of approximately $7.7 million over five years since purchase.
Franklin’s mailing address is listed as 10066 Cielo Drive in Beverly Hills—a compound built on land once associated with historic events but now featuring modern amenities including a gym and theater—and is currently listed on the market.
