Grammy-winning artist Marc Anthony has sold his condo at One Thousand Museum in downtown Miami for $8.6 million, according to property records and the listing information. Anthony, whose full name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, originally purchased the 8,400-square-foot townhouse unit in 2021 for $11 million, which amounts to just over $1,300 per square foot. The recent sale closed at $1,024 per square foot, representing a 22 percent loss from the previous sale price.
The five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom unit was owned by a trust managed by Anthony’s manager Charles Koppelman. The property had been listed last year for $11.4 million and most recently was on the market for $9.9 million before selling at the lower price.
Anamaria Velasquez of Nexxos Realty represented the seller in the transaction. Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer, identified as Shadi LLC, a Delaware-based company.
Anthony previously sold another luxury property in South Florida—a waterfront mansion in Coral Gables’ Cocoplum neighborhood—for $22.4 million in 2020. That home featured 21,000 square feet and 12 bedrooms.
Marc Anthony is recognized as the top-selling salsa artist of all time with more than 12 million albums sold worldwide. He has won four Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards.
One Thousand Museum is known for its distinctive exoskeleton design created by late architect Zaha Hadid and has attracted several high-profile buyers such as soccer star David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham. The Beckhams also own a separate waterfront mansion on North Bay Road.
The building stands 62 stories tall with 84 units and was completed in 2019 by developers Louis Birdman, Gilberto Bomeny, Kevin Venger, Gregg Covin and Todd Michael Glaser.
Earlier this year, hedge fund manager Ken Griffin listed his penthouse in One Thousand Museum for $23 million; it is now asking $23.8 million after previously selling for $18 million in 2021.
