More than a week after reports suggested that Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan were under contract to buy an off-market estate on Indian Creek Island, new information indicates the couple is instead considering the island’s only publicly listed property. The property in question is a two-acre mansion at 7 Indian Creek Island Road, currently under construction and listed for $200 million.
According to an updated story from the Wall Street Journal, Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, and his wife are in discussions about the potential purchase. The estate is owned by Dr. Aaron Rollins, known for his work as a cosmetic surgeon and inventor of AirSculpt, along with his wife Marine Rollins. The property was put on the market in November 2025. Marine Rollins did not respond to requests for comment.
The listing agents for the property are Danny and Jill Hertzberg with the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty. They declined to comment.
Initial media attention was sparked when it was reported that Zuckerberg and Chan were buying another Indian Creek Island mansion owned by Peter Cancro, founder of Jersey Mike’s Subs, and his wife Tatiana Cancro. This alleged deal was seen as part of a trend where wealthy individuals leave California for Florida amid proposed tax changes in California.
However, several real estate insiders told The Real Deal that the Cancros are not selling their home. This clarification shifted focus onto which property Zuckerberg and Chan might actually be targeting.
It remains uncertain how committed Zuckerberg and Chan are to purchasing the 7 Indian Creek Island Road estate or if they plan to relocate to Florida. The mansion is not expected to be finished before mid-2027. Even if they move after its completion, this would not exempt them from any new wealth taxes approved by California voters in November 2026 since such taxes would apply retroactively to assets held as of January 1, 2026.
