Santa Fe College board plans to rescind admissions procedure rule

The District Board of Trustees of Santa Fe College in Florida has announced its intention to delete Rule 7.3, which addresses college admission and readmission procedures. The proposed action will be considered at the board’s regular meeting scheduled for November 18, 2025, at the Perry Center in Alachua.

According to the notice, the contents of Rule 7.3 have been incorporated into Procedure 7.1P, making the rule itself redundant. The notice states: “The District Board of Trustees of Santa Fe College, Florida, gives notice of its intent to delete/rescind Rule 7.3 at its regularly scheduled Board meeting at 4:00 p.m. on 11/18/25, at the Perry Center, 14180 NW 119th Terrace, Alachua, FL 32615. Rule 7.3 (College Admission and Readmission Procedures). PURPOSE AND EFFECT: Contents of Rule 7.3 has been moved into Procedure 7.1P.”

The rulemaking authority is cited as FS 1001.64, with laws implemented including FS1001.64(8), 1007.263, and 1009.21; as well as administrative code reference 6A-10.044 FAC.

Notice regarding the development of this rule was previously published in Alachua County Today on October 2, 2025.
