The Trump Library Foundation announced on Mar. 31 plans for the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library to be built as a large skyscraper in Miami. A teaser video released by the foundation showed the proposed building towering over other structures along Biscayne Boulevard.
The project is expected to cost $950 million and would include a hotel and commercial spaces, but no residential units, according to Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization and trustee for the library foundation. The development aims to serve as a significant monument honoring former President Donald J. Trump.
“This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida, will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known,” Eric Trump posted on X.
The site for the library at 500-540 Biscayne Boulevard was donated by the state of Florida after it acquired it from Miami Dade College through a process that faced legal challenges from Dr. Marvin Dunn, a local historian and civic activist. The property is currently used as a parking lot for college employees and sits next to downtown’s historic Freedom Tower.
Designed by Bermello Ajamil of Coral Gables, plans feature prominent displays such as replicas of Air Force One and golden statues of Donald Trump within gold-tiled interiors. The name “TRUMP” appears at the top of the tower in all capital letters according to visuals shown in the teaser video.
IRS filings indicate that fundraising efforts are underway with expectations to raise $950 million over two years while Donald Trump remains in office. Last year saw contributions including $15 million from ABC News, nearly $16 million from CBS News, and $22 million from Meta led by Mark Zuckerberg. The foundation has already spent $400,000 compensating its directors and trustees; board members include Eric Trump along with Michael Boulous and attorney James Kiley.
