The Vanderbilt estate known as “Miradero” in Gulf Stream has been sold for $21.6 million, following just one month on the market. The oceanfront property at 1443 North Ocean Boulevard was designed by architect Maurice Fatio and originally built in 1928 for Lila Vanderbilt Webb, a granddaughter of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt.
The seller was the Ganger Miradero Community Property Trust, controlled by the Ganger family. The buyer remains undisclosed as the deed has not yet appeared in public records.
Listing agents Pascal and Antonio Liguori with Premier Estate Properties represented the seller, while Candace Friis with the Corcoran Group brought the buyer.
The estate had been owned by the Ganger family since 1970, when it was purchased by Robert M. Ganger and his son, Robert W. Ganger. According to an obituary in Coastal Star, Robert W. Ganger had a long career at General Foods, which became part of Kraft Foods after being acquired by Philip Morris Companies (now Altria) for $5.6 billion in 1985. Robert M. Ganger was known as an advertising executive credited with helping popularize diet soda and filtered cigarettes.
Robert W. Ganger and his wife Anneli restored Miradero in the 1990s. The compound consists of three buildings with nine bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a pool, and spans 121 feet of beachfront.
Zillow listed the property last month for $25 million before its sale at $21.6 million.
This transaction is part of a trend of high-value sales in Gulf Stream recently. Earlier this month, attorney Henry Rosen purchased another oceanfront home at 3435 North Ocean Boulevard for $22 million. In 2024, Debra Levitetz sold her oceanfront teardown for $39 million, setting a price record for Gulf Stream.
